Using Manage My Rx^TM allows a pharmacy to provide patients with secure access to their prescription information and the ability to order refills from any browser-equipped device with internet access.  Pharmacists can sign up for the service on-line and go through a simple installation procedure, then immediately begin directing customers online to manage their prescriptions.  Prescription information is transmitted securely using SSL directly from the pharmacy’s WinRx software, so patients can even see the status of a prescription they dropped off earlier that day.  Refill requests are submitted directly to the work-queue in WinRx so patients are assured of the best possible service from the pharmacy staff.

Through the Consumer portal, patients can sign up for an online account and follow a simple and fast procedure at the pharmacy to ensure HIPAA privacy guidelines are followed for granting access to information for themselves, their children, and any spouses or other adult family members who have granted them access to their health care information.

Using the Institutional portal, pharmacy customers such as nursing homes and hospice facilities can  manage prescriptions for all their patients, using assigned accounts by a pharmacy.  There’s even an online option for creating new prescriptions, eliminating redundant data entry or transcription errors while adhering to statutory requirements for signed directives for new prescriptions.

Pharmacies using the WinRx software from Computer-Rx can enroll with the option of offering only the Consumer portal, or offering both the Institutional and Consumer portals.  The service is offered to pharmacists on a subscription basis by Triact Associates, Inc., in partnership with Computer-Rx, the author of WinRx.  Pharmacists will be able to enroll in Manage My Rx^TM online at www.manage-my-rx.com beginning in the fall of 2008.
