PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY
TechSolve, a managed IT services provider had spent more than a year attempting to develop and deploy a custom project management system to meet the unique requirements of their business model. The initial deployment attempt was resisted by users to such a degree that the original project leader had been reassigned within the company, another key member of the development team left, and the project was on the verge of being scrapped.
SOLUTION
Applying principles from Rapid Application Development methodologies, a Triact project leader helped bring disgruntled users and a key developer together to identify key features to meet functional requirements for management and usability standards acceptable to end users. An initial release of the system was deployed for production use on selected projects within four months after Triact took over management of the project.
