Warehouse Management Systems

A good Warehouse Management System (WMS) should help you manage the work of the warehouse, without duplicating or complicating the initiation of or accounting for the work. Most ERP and accounting systems have modules that are the primary vehicles for order management and inventory management. That is to say, the ERP or accounting system has the "golden copy" of the inventory (including lot/location) and order data. The problem is, the ERP or accounting system doesn't include the tools to efficiently or effectively manage the work of filling the orders and organizing the inventory

Unfortunately, most WMS products include complete order and inventory management as an integral part of the WMS itself. This means implementing the WMS requires shuffling data between the WMS and your ERP/accounting system, and choreagraphing an intricate dance of responsibility to know where the "golden copy" of your order/inventory data lives at any moment in time.

Triact takes a different approach to allow you to truly manage your warehouse, while leaving your ERP/accounting system in charge of orders & inventory. Tools like our Picking Activity Console (PAC) allow a warehouse supervisor to organize and manage picking activity in the warehouse without moving order data out of the ERP/Accounting system. The PAC provides direct visibility of orders in the ERP/Accounting database, but keeps the process management data, such as priority and work queue assignments in a separate database. When picking tasks are completed, the picking transactions are posted back directly against the ERP/Accounting system so that no data is duplicated or ever has to be synchronized.

When the best fit for your needs is a WMS package from a vendor like Manhattan Associates or Accellos (Radio Beacon), we can bring the expertise to your team to ensure a good outcome. We will work with you to clarify and document your requirements, identify & evaluate candidate vendors/products, negotiate licenses and implementation services, and then we’ll help you run the implementation project to your best advantage. Serving as your independent "client-side" project manager, we'll reduce the time and cost of implementation compared to a project managed primarily by WMS company personnel.
